About Sand Springs
Sand Springs, Tulsa’s western and closest neighbor, is proud of its broad business base and its many recreational opportunities. Boating and fishing are normal fare for this community that borders the Arkansas River and is just minutes away from Keystone Lake, with over 23,000 surface acres and 330 miles of shoreline. Keystone Lake also boasts 3 marinas, 2 sailing clubs and several Corps of Engineers recreational areas. Keystone Lake is part of the Southwestern Power Administration, which generates “green” electricity through water-driven generators.
During the late fall and winter months thousands of our visitors come to see the Pelicans and Bald Eagles, who make Lake Keystone their winter home.
The annual Herbal Affair and Festival is hosted by the city in the late spring in downtown Sand Springs around the Triangle. Through the Summer the Chamber of Commerce offers the Third Tuesday Concert Series on the Triangle.
DISCOVERYLAND is the home each summer for the Rogers and Hammerstein musical “Oklahoma”.
